Hey there dear Ghent Erasmus lovers!
The 27th of April is a national holiday for our northern neighbours; the birthday of their King Willem-Alexander. Translated to English that means a massive party in orange and loads of festivities in Orange!
We've arranged transport to and from Amsterdam and let you free in deciding what you want to do when you get there. Amsterdam will be coloured in orange all-over, and there will be plenty of events, activities and parties! So please check in advance which ones you will want to attend: http://www.iamsterdam.com/en/visiting/whats-on/kings-day.
Next to the extra festivities, Amsterdam is a beautiful blue-veined city, well-known for its variety in fascinating artifacts; from trendy (think about the red districts and the Madame Tussaud museum), cultural (Amsterdam’s China town has one of Europe’s largest Buddhist temples), architectural (take the Mint tower on the flower market for instance), historical (the Anne Frank house and Rembrandt statue) to right-out eccentric ( e.g. the hash, marihuana & Hemp museum or the Amsterdam Dungeon), not to forget the many dine opportunities! So get inspired at http://www.inyourpocket.com/Netherlands/Amsterdam/Amsterdam-Centrum.
Take into account that not all museums will be open as it is a national holiday, to see which ones are open check http://www.iamsterdam.com/en/visiting/whats-on/kings-day/all-about-kings-day-in-amsterdam. But next to that plenty to see!
