Just like many other countries, we also celebrate carnival.
Although it’s not as big as Rio de Janeiro, Aalst is known for organising the biggest carnival parade in Belgium. With over 100 floats, it attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year.
To give you a chance to experience this local tradition, we are taking you to Aalst Carnaval on Sunday, February 23rd! The main event is the parade which takes place at 1 p.m. After this, you're free to choose how to fill in your day. For example, you could join us for some drinks in the city centre or enjoy some rides on the funfair. The last train back to Gent leaves the Aalst railway station at 11:19 p.m.
PRICE? You just have to buy your own train ticket. The cheapest ticket there and back is €6,40 (a Weekend Ticket).
WHERE? We meet at the entrance of Sint-Pieters station. Don't be late!
WHEN? Sunday, 23rd of February at 11:25 AM (BE ON TIME! The train leaves at 11:41, make sure you've already bought your ticket by then!)
DON'T FORGET! Don’t forget to dress up!
Hope to see you all there!
