Now that everyone has recovered from the carnival in Aalst, it’s time to discover another Belgian city! This Saturday the 9th of March, we’re going to visit Ieper, the centre of the Battles of Ypres between German and Allied forces during the First World War. We’ll leave at 8.30 am in Ghent to start with a visit to the Passchendaele New Britisch Cemetery. This cemetery contains more than 2000 burials and commemorations of the First World War. Afterwards, we’re heading to the city centre of Ypres. At 1pm, a visit to the ‘In Flanders Field Museum’ is planned. We’re closing our historical and cultural day with the Last Post ceremony, which takes place every night at 8pm under the Menin Gate.
