About us
A quick history lesson about ESN Gent
Title
Our story

ESN Gent has been welcoming exchange students to Ghent since 1989 — founded by students who knew exactly how it feels to arrive in a new city without knowing where to go or who to ask. More than three decades later, that's still what we do: make your time in Ghent the best experience of your life.
What we do
Throughout the academic year we organise parties, trips, cultural activities, sports, cantus and much more — there's something happening almost every week. Everything lives in the ESN Gent App: browse the events, get your tickets, and turn on notifications so you never miss a thing.
Members with an ESNcard get reduced (often free) entry to our events, plus thousands of student discounts across Europe — it's the official membership card of the Erasmus Generation.
Who we are
We're a volunteer organisation: a team of local and former exchange students who do this for the fun of it, not for money. ESN Gent is a section of the Erasmus Student Network, active in hundreds of cities across Europe — so wherever your exchange takes you, there's an ESN waiting.

Come find us
During the semester you'll find us at the ESN office in Home Canterbury (Stalhof 6, Ghent) — the current office hours and upcoming sessions are on the office page. Drop by with any question, for your ESNcard, or just to say hi. The office is closed during exams and holidays.
